EASTERN DISTRICT PLAYERS LEAGUE INFORMATION

DIVISION I / SUPER 2

The Division I/Super 2 Players League is designed for high-level competitive teams seeking to compete against similarly skilled opponents and aim for advancement to the state level (SCL). This level of play is not open to all teams; new teams must apply through the Request for Consideration (RFC) process during July and January or be promoted from Division II through the league’s promotion and relegation structure. Lower Super 2 teams are eligible to participate in the Directors Cup, while Division I and higher Super 2 teams can compete in the Presidents Cup during the spring. Please note that some 11U-13U teams in Division I brackets will be subject to seeding into the State Cup.

DIVISION II

Division II offers an open competition for teams transitioning from a recreational setting to a more competitive environment. It serves as the initial South Texas league competition pathway for teams aiming to advance to higher levels of district competition. Division II teams are eligible to participate in STX Soccer championship events, including the Fall Championships in December and the South Texas Cup in the spring.

EASTERN DEVELOPMENT SPRING LEAGUE INFORMATION

STX Soccer and the Eastern District Players League are excited to host the Eastern Developmental Spring League (EDSL) again this spring. The EDSL is organized under the The Players League and is open to all interested 15U–19U teams that participated in the Fall 2024 season of Division I, Super 2, Division II, or the State Classic League (SCL).

RESCHEDULING WORKSHOP SPRING 2025

The Players League is excited to host a Rescheduling Workshop to hear any reschedule request and finalize the Spring 2025 schedule before the season begins. This workshop allows each team to make reschedule requests for any game they need to, face-to-face with the other coaches and STX Soccer staff.

The Reschedule Workshop information will be emailed directly to each teams’ team coach and manager. Reschedule Workshop Procedures and the schedule for calls can be found by accessing the documents below.

13U SOUTH TEXAS FRONTIER CONFERENCE QUALIFIER INFORMATION

An invitation only, round-robin style event where the top three teams in the Players League – Division I, the top three teams in WDDOA Prime Flight, the top team from the South Zone (non-WDDOA team as determined by the South Zone), and the top team from El Paso (as determined by El Paso) compete for an opportunity to participate in the USYS Frontier Conference in the Spring 2024 season.
