Winter 2013 GBM

 

South Texas Youth Soccer concluded the 2013 Winter GBM February, 24. The event was held at Moody Gardens Hotel in Galveston Texas. The event kicked off with a roll of the dice! Casino Night was presented by Bay Area Youth Soccer Association. Vendors gathered for the Vendor Expo right next door to the Casino Night event. 

 

Day two was composed of multiple workshops that educated the members in soccer fundamentals, insurance, GotSoccer database entry, and coaching education.  All workshops were free to the soccer community and South Texas Youth Soccer Members.

A delicious and unforgettable Hall of Fame Luncheon was Saturday as well.  Cecil Meekins, Linda Miller and Joe Payton were inducted in to the STYSA Hall of Fame.  During the luncheon, Lonestar Soccer Club announced a generous donation of $10,000 dedicated to the South Texas Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Programs.   Preceding lunch and the remaining workshops was a social event courtesy of the Houston Dynamos.

 

The Governing Board Meeting ended the weekend’s events with detailed discussions of rule changes, election of Executive Committee members, voting, updates of the Member Associations and Soccer News
