STYSA will be hosting a D Course in El Paso, Texas. The course will be the weekends of Feb. 26-28 & Mar. 3-5, 2010. Applicants must have an E License and have held it for a year. If interested contact Alma at almam@stxsoccer.org.

STYSA will conduct a U6/U8 Module for coaches on Saturday, Feb. 13th at the Winter GBM. The five hour course will take place at the Inn of The Hills located at 1001 Junction Hwy in Kerrville, Texas 78028. The hours are TBA.

The U6/U8 Youth Module is designed to provide the most current and advanced information for the growth and development of the U6 through U8 youth player. The ultimate goal is to provide coaches with the tools to ’unlock the game within each child’ and reach his or her full soccer potential. The module will show coaches developmentally appropriate activities for children and the use of games as a vehicle to learning.

Mikaela Harvey (Lonestar SC), Joanna Robertson and Beryl Smith (Challenge SC) will be traveling with the Region III 95 ODP team to an event in Costa Rica while Erin Inman and Tabria Williford (Lonestar SC) will travel with the Region III 93 ODP team to the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

The Association Delegates at the Summer Governing Board Meeting attended meetings, workshops and held debates late into the night on Saturday in preparation for the general business meeting Sunday morning.  Of the 20 rule changes proposed for consideration, 4 were withdrawn, 10 passed, 3 died for lack motion, and 3 failed.
